Repair Procedure

  • 1. Raise Return Request
    Please complete the information required as accurately as possible.

  • 2. Return Merchandise Authorisation (RMA) Generated
    A member of our Customer Service team will generate a RMA number and contact you by email with details on how to ship your faulty product back to us. Your RMA number is usually generated within one working day.
  • 3. Return Your Product to Audio-Technica
    Carefully pack your product and ship it back to our Service Centre. It is important that your RMA number is labelled on the outside of your packaging. Our return address for service repairs is:

  • 4. Inspection carried out by our service engineers
    Once we receive your product, one of our service engineers will carry out an inspection, usually within two working day of receipt.

    We will endeavour to service and repair your product within three working days. If your product cannot be repaired, we will replace it free of charge.

    After inspection we will contact you with a repair estimate. If you choose to go ahead, we will endeavour to service and repair the item within three working days of receiving payment for the estimate.
  • 5. Product shipped back to customer
    Your repaired product will be shipped back to you and includes an additional three month warranty to cover against the same fault reoccurring.

Inspection Fee
After receiving a repair estimate for a non-warranty item, you are not obliged to go ahead with the repair. However, if you choose to have the item returned to you without repair, please note there will be an inspection fee payable of one hour labour plus return carriage.

Warranty Information

Terms of Warranty
All Audio-Technica products purchased from Audio-Technica Europe are guaranteed for TWO years from the date of purchase by the original end-user to be free of defects in materials and workmanship. In the event of such defect, the product will be repaired or replaced without charge.  This is provided that a valid purchase receipt is submitted with the product and the fault is one of legitimate electrical or mechanical failure. 

Product failure occurring as the result of factors that do not constitute genuine manufacturing defect are not covered under the terms of the warranty and any repairs of this nature would be chargeable. The Audio-Technica warranty excludes defects due to normal wear, abuse, shipping damage, or failure to use the product in accordance with the instructions. This warranty is void in the event of unauthorised repair or modification, or removal or defacing of the product label and/ or serial number. Audio-Technica's two-year warranty is not transferrable and is redeemable only by the original end-user purchaser.

Who to contact for warranty support
As your first action, you should always contact and return products to your local Audio-Technica authorised dealer or distributor where the product was purchased, who will exercise the warranty terms. Contact details for all distributors within Europe, Africa and the Middle East can be found on our website. Distribution into countries not managed by Audio-Technica Europe can be found on our international website.

Your second point of contact will be Audio-Technica Europe directly, who will attempt to find you assistance locally, or provide authority to return your products to the Audio-Technica European office. In this case, prior authority must be sought from Audio-Technica Ltd. You should always contact your local Audio-Technica authorised distributor or dealer where the product was purchased before trying to obtain a return authorisation number from Audio-Technica Europe.

When the authorised distributor/dealer warranty terms are different to Audio-Technica's
Shall the warranty period from the distributor/dealer exceed the Audio-Technica warranty period it will remain the responsibility of the distributor/dealer.
Shall the standard warranty terms of the distributor/dealer expire before those of Audio-Technica, the Audio-Technica terms will apply and the balance of the warranty period will be the responsibility of Audio-Technica Europe.

Products purchased outside of Europe, Africa or the Middle East
For product purchased outside of the countries managed by Audio-Technica Europe such as North America, Japan and Asia will not be covered by Audio-Technica Europe’s 2 year warranty.  In the first instance, customers should contact the dealer or local distributor within the country the product was purchased. In the case that it is not possible to return the product to the country or dealer where it was purchased and customers wish to return the product to an Audio-Technica service centre in Europe, any repair or replacement undertaken by Audio-Technica Europe are not covered under the terms of the warranty and any repairs of this nature would be chargeable.

Five-Year Limited Warranty

Audio-Technica Engineered Sound® wired microphones, Audio-Technica ATUC products, Audio-Technica digital SmartMixers, Audio-Technica Dante™ products and “ES” designated accessories purchased from Audio-Technica Europe via an authorised Dealer or System Integrator are automatically extended to a total of five (5) years warranty from the date of purchase from the original end-user.

The terms and conditions, in this instance, remain exactly the same as the listed two-year warranty, but with all warranty terms extended from TWO (2) years to FIVE (5) years.

Lifetime Warranty

The Audio-Technica Europe Lifetime Warranty is applicable to 50 Series, 40 Series, Artist Series and Artist Elite wired microphones only.  This warranty does not affect your statutory rights and is free of charge.  In return, please note the following terms and conditions:

  1. The lifetime warranty is available only to the original end-user who completes and submits to Audio-Technica Ltd the guarantee registration form online at within 30 days of purchase. The lifetime warranty applies only to the 50 Series and 40 Series range of Studio microphones and the Artist Elite and Artist Series ranges of Live Sound wired microphones (excluding headworn) and only to the serviceable life of the product, which Audio-Technica deems to be 15 years.
  2. The lifetime warranty only applies to new product and is not applicable to products purchased ex display or products purchased before 1st November 2007 (40 Series) or before 1st May 2009 (Artist Elite and Artist Series). You will be required to submit proof of purchase when making a claim under the terms of the warranty.
  3. The lifetime warranty applies to material and manufacturing defects only for the serviceable life of the product*.
  4. The lifetime warranty does not cover faults caused by factors outside the manufacturer's control, including:
    • Failure to follow Audio-Technica’s use and maintenance instructions
    • Deterioration of any part due to normal wear and tear
    • Damage caused during shipping
    • Inappropriate use and/or cleaning
    • Accidental and/or wilful damage
    • Modification, alteration, or transformation of the unit
  5. The lifetime warranty only applies to product supplied by Audio-Technica Ltd and purchased from professional authorised resellers within EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa)**.
  6. The lifetime warranty applies to the product only.
  7. You shall notify Audio-Technica within 14 days upon discovery of a defect.
  8. If the product is found to be defective within the definition detailed above, Audio-Technica shall, at its discretion, either refund (up to but not in excess of) the original purchase price, or repair the product, or provide new goods and parts to you in replacement. This shall be Audio-Technica’s sole obligation under this guarantee, which excludes any claim for consequential loss or damage.
  9. No shipments will be accepted without a return authorisation number (RMA#) printed clearly on the package. Please contact the local Audio-Technica distributor where you purchased the product or Audio-Technica Ltd to obtain the RMA#. Audio-Technica must be able to duplicate the problem with any product that is returned for service that the user has determined is not functioning to factory specifications. Any product that is evaluated by Audio-Technica with ‘no fault found’ may be subject to additional charges.
  10. Upon registering at, you will be issued with a unique customer identification number. Please print this off and retain for your records and use this number when contacting us.
  11. If a claim is made under this guarantee and the defect is not due to faulty materials or manufacture, Audio-Technica reserve the right to charge the customer in respect of any Service Engineer's time or replacement parts supplied.

* Audio-Technica deems the life of the microphone to be 15 years from the date of purchase. Audio-Technica products may not be able to be repaired or replaced to original specification due to replacement parts or equivalent products no longer being available. Under these circumstances Audio-Technica will advise users of optional repair or replacement services. Optional repair or replacement services may be subject to additional charges.
