Audio Technica Leads the Way to 2012

21 December 2009

Audio-Technica has introduced a significantly discounted trade-in scheme – Upgrade Pass – to allow wireless users a clear path through the challenges presented by Ofcom’s Digital Dividend Review. In doing so, Audio-Technica becomes the first supplier of wireless systems to launch a comprehensive customer-focused response to the issues surrounding the frequencies sell-off in 2012.

The first of its kind to launch since Ofcom’s review, the Upgrade Pass is a heavily discounted trade-in scheme that entitles users to a discount of 55% off the purchase price of replacement wireless systems they have to buy as a result of the UHF frequencies being auctioned off. Under the scheme, new purchases of Audio-Technica wireless equipment made between 1st January 2010 and December 31st 2011 will entitle the customer to trade in their systems when channel 38 equipment becomes available without further full investment. In order to activate the Upgrade Pass and receive the 55% off RRP discount when they come to replace their systems, users simply need to register their products with Audio-Technica within 30 days of purchase.

A dedicated Upgrade Pass website has been created at www.atupgradepass.com containing detailed information on the scheme, on DDR in general and to allow customers to register their qualifying Audio-Technica wireless purchases.

‘We know that 2012 will be a year of great upheaval for wireless microphone users,” says Harvey Roberts, UK senior marketing manager, “But with the Upgrade Pass, Audio-Technica is aiming to minimise the negative financial impact of the frequency sell-off to our customers. It is a serious undertaking on our part and is very much in line with our continued commitment to supporting our customers and users.”
